Communication is key! When using a locum company, it’s important to use your consultant as your advisor. Be clear about what you’re looking for and be realistic about the salary you will need to allocate, when recruiting a pharmacist. The market determines the salary, but this is also dependent on location and duration of the job.
The fees depend on the position and duration of the placement. For a full fee structure, please contact us on 1800 357 001 or email jobs@locumco.com.au
You will be invoiced on the day the candidate commences employment. The fee is payable 14 days after the invoice date and there is a 12 week guarantee period for permanent placements.
You pay the candidate directly. We will invoice you separately for our service.
If we have recruited a permanent pharmacist, as long as you pay your invoice within 14 days you are covered by our placement guarantee.
If you are dissatisfied when recruiting a locum pharmacist please notify us within 48 hours of commencement and we will replace the locum immediately.

Pharmacists and pharmacy staff
The greatest benefit is that you have access to a larger range of roles. Most of our clients won’t advertise their jobs through regular channels, meaning you find out about current pharmacy positions that you would have otherwise missed.
We also negotiate terms on behalf of you to ensure you’re getting the best package. Vacancies are updated daily on our website and communicated through our app and social media channels, making the search for a job much easier.
No. We have a wide range of jobs available. While we specialise in recruiting pharmacists — whether working as a locum pharmacist, through to full-time and part-time positions — we also recruit for other pharmacy roles. These include retail managers, health heroes, stock controllers, dispensary technicians, alternative therapies and vitamin specialists, cosmeticians and general pharmacy retail staff.
Many people are in the same position so it isn’t a problem at all. Upon request, we will keep all information confidential.
We have a streamlined registration form on our website, which you can access on the Job Seekers Registration. Alternately, if you’re not ready to apply for a job but wish to be informed of the latest listings click “Get Job Alerts”.
You will also need to provide us with an up-to-date resume and referee contact details. The registration process only takes a few minutes and once registered you will automatically receive our weekly job bulletin, which is an overview of all the latest job vacancies, including those related to working as a locum.
Ensure you download our LocumCo app as well. You’ll receive a push notification if there is an urgent vacancy for a pharmacist locum position near you, helping you to respond quickly to snap up a position.
You’ll receive an auto-generated email reply that confirms your application has been received. We then assess all applications and resumes individually in relation to the role for which you have applied, and send you a response. The response will be one of the following:
- Unfortunately, due to your skills and experience required for the job you are not a suitable candidate. Please try again for another job.
- You are unsuitable for this particular job but we have identified you are a suitable candidate for another job and we would like to discuss this further with you.
- We consider you to be a great candidate for the role and we will put you forward to the employer after we conduct a phone interview with you.
Yes! in fact we place interns for free at pharmacies, making it extremely attractive for employers to advertise internships through LocumCo. We have partnered with NAPSA to be able to offer one portal for pharmacies to post their Intern positions and this portal will be promoted through NAPSA so students never need to go elsewhere.
